Do you live in Ediburgh? Are you interested in making sure the next Scottish Household Survey has inclusive questions for trans (including non-binary) people? See info below on how to take part in a thirty minute interview with Ipsos MORI for which you will be paid thirty pounds:
Ipsos MORI Scotland has been contracted to run the 2018 Wave of the Scottish Household Survey (SHS). The SHS is a regular survey run by Ipsos Mori Scotland on behalf of the Scottish Government, the findings of the survey are used to help inform Government planning and public policy decisions.
Whilst some questions in the survey are asked every year to keep track of annual changes, new questions are often introduced. To ensure that these questions are fully understood in practice we pilot these questions with the public.
This year we will be piloting a new question about gender identity. We would like to recruit 10 people in Edinburgh with trans or non-binary gender identities to provide feedback on the new question. No expertise or knowledge of survey design is needed we just want to hear your views and feedback. The aim of this process is to ensure the question is understood as intended and that participants in the SHS feel they can provide information in a way that reflects the view they want to express.
This process will take the form of a face-to-face interview in a place of your choosing, for example in your home or in our Wemyss Place office, and would last approximately 30 minutes. Your information and answers will be completely anonymous and participants will receive £30 as a thank you for their time. As part of this process we will also be testing other questions in the survey such as on volunteering, cultural participation etc.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, please give Ipsos Mori Scotland a call on 0131 220 5699.
We would be extremely grateful for any help you could provide. ... See MoreSee Less
